Monsta
I’ve created a monster….no, a monsta….
This cheeter board keeps the speed constant, yet has the hold of a normal good waves shortboard. It is similar to the Falcon, but with a slightly more pulled in nose and a wide squashtail for maximum lift. Where the Falcon had a spiral vee contour running through the fin cluster, I’ve plowed all the guts out of it and left one deep even concave with subtle inset doubles running through the fins and even concave running right off the tail block. When I shaped the first one, I didn’t think it would work, but somehow the water compresses through the tail just fine (I think cause of the concave off the tailblock) and makes for a lightning fast board that you can push full force on the tail block without worrying about any slipping. Basically you get all the speed of the Rascal and Falcon, but you never have to let off the gas going into or coming out of maneuvers. Ride this one 3-4 inches shorter and 1/2” wider than your standard good waves shortboard.
WAVE PREFERENCES: knee high and mushy to head high and hollow
FIN CONFIGURATION: thruster or five fin option to ride as tri or quadAVAILABLE TAIL CONFIGURATIONS: wide squash, wide hip-squash, swallowtail, thumbtail
RECOMMENDED RIDER TYPES: I use three different rockers for this board depending on the waves in your area:
the v.1.3 being the most user friendly from novice to expert and working in the widest ranges of wave types and sizes;
the v.1 being the flattest and best for mushy small point surf;
and the v.2 has a bit more rocker and can handle the demands of hyperactive rippers who can’t stay out of the pocket, or for surfers who’s local spots tend to be small, but can still be small and hollow at the same time i.e. the N.Y./ N.J. beachbreaks, Newport, Huntington, Texas, Japan, etc…small beachbreaky kind of stuff…found all over really…

What's up Todd, it's Forrest. Just got done surfing County Line on the Monsta.
That board is a Monster dude. I can't even…I don't know. It's amazing. I'm speechless.
I surfed it yesterday at Hueneme when it was like overhead and gnarly punchy peaks, like really heavy beach wedges, and it was holding and going so fast in that.
And then County Line today, it was like the most perfect board for it ever. I just wanted to call and give you verbal feedback because the board's amazing and I'm seriously hooked on it. I don't think I'm ever gonna wanna
ride a normal board again. It's so sick.
I just wanted to call…. and express my gratitude, cuz the boards' just so sick.
See ya,

Charissa,
This is rich nix, I have received my board and seems as though you two have outdone yourselves again! The craft is beautiful! Thanks again for the time spent on me, it's what I imagined in a board plus much more. I feel blessed to have found your company. As always, shipping went great and problem free. :) I will stay in contact and wish to order another board I have on my mind and briefly spoken to todd about, but may wait till late summer. Thanks again for your assistance and hard work, it so appreciated sincerely!

With Monsta surfboard and Da Monsta carver ( it;s helping a lot to improve my skills ), surfing has became a essential part of my life. It's wonderful see that i am improving my surfing each day. This board gave to me confidence and the opportunity to try new things. This weekend the waves were up to 7' and i was still surfing with confident and making things that i was not able to do. That's the problem. It's making me want more and more. I am thinking about a new challenge. So, i need your help, again, to keep going.
Besides wanting to reach the next level, i wouldn't like to loose the stability, confidence and the paddling power of Da Monsta. Is it possible?
After that, do you think The Ghost would be the best Proctor board for that? And what would be the dimensions?

Hi Charissa,
I’ve been quite remiss in getting this email out...please tell Todd that I’ve been ridiculously pleased with my Monsta shape. At 195 lbs. / 6’, I was a little dubious about a 5’!0””, but man was I wrong. The board is perfectly fitted for my size and surfing ability...paddles great, picks off waves early, and SLAMS down power carves like nobody’s business. I can honestly say that at 42 yrs of age I’ve been surfing top of my game...blowing out tails, stomping big face carves, and executing better in-the-pocket surfing. Recent trips to PR, Nicaragua, and surfing gutless wind chop locally in South Florida, perfectly displays the Monsta’s versatility. This board has been my main go to for anything over waist and up to double overhead (the board absolutely shined in a sketchy 8’ plus session at Middles). I’m literally a walking/surfing billboard for Proctor, as recent local sessions in waist/chest high slop have been eye opening...with post surf questions from strangers asking what I’m riding. I unabashedly gush over your shapes and tell them to go buy one!!I also want to thank you for the customer service. I have a good friend and shaper, Briand A. Tudor (BAT) in Melbourne, FL who has been my trusted shaper for years. I’ve always appreciated his approachability to custom designs and willingness to dial me into the best equipment. Getting a custom shape on the West coast presents potential pitfalls, and quite frankly was a major concern initially. However, after talking with you and Todd I knew I was in good hands. And indeed, the end result has been outstanding. Now I just need a few more in my quiver :)
All the best, Matt Herren
